Melrose man arrested for attempted murder after shooting local resident three times

MELROSE, Fla. (WCJB) – A Melrose man was arrested Saturday following a home shooting that left a local resident hospitalized.

Michael “Mr. Lump” Robinson, 60, was arrested Saturday for shooting a neighboring resident estimated three times, according to Bradford County Sheriff’s Office officials.

Deputies first responded to the call at 8:56 a.m. Saturday but said the attack may have occurred late Friday night.

The victim, Joshua Hutchinson, 36, went to Robinson’s home and was shot three times in the right hip and right foot following an argument.

According to authorities, Robinson fired two different firearms, once with a 0.9 mm handgun that emptied the gun’s magazine, and then twice with a 0.22 caliber semi-automatic rifle.

According to the arrest report, Robinson wasn’t trying to kill him, he was just trying to get him to leave.

After the shooting, the victim’s uncle picked him up from Robinson’s house, took him to his own home and called 911.

Robinson was later arrested at his home in Speedville and now faces a charge of attempted second-degree murder; If convicted, this could mean up to 15 years in prison.

The victim was transported to UF Shands Hospital and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
