Man, 61, arrested after woman was fatally stabbed in south London

A. murder investigation An investigation is ongoing after a woman in her 60s was found stabbed to death at her home in south-east London.

Responding to numerous calls from passers-by who saw him being attacked, police found the victim at a property on Greenland Quays, near Surrey Quays. Rotherhithe Friday at 3 p.m.

Officers attended along with paramedics and the London Air Ambulance.

The woman who was taken to hospital unfortunately died Metropolitan Police in question.

The 61-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder remains in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn, who is leading the investigation, said: “We received a number of calls from members of the public close to the scene yesterday afternoon with concerns about the victim.

“Officers together London Ambulance Service London Air Ambulance responded quickly but unfortunately the woman, in her 60s, died in hospital last night.

“Our Specialist Crime Command is continuing the investigation today and at this stage we believe this is an isolated incident involving a man and woman who knew each other.”

A police cordon remained at the scene on Saturday evening and forensic officers were still at the beach property.
