Melbourne college student arrested in Miami-Dade over sexual abuse images involving children and animals, records show

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – An 18-year-old man facing charges related to sexual abuse images involving children and animals wore a green anti-suicide gown to court in Miami-Dade County on Saturday.

Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Jason Emilios Dimitris presided over the bond court hearing. Dariel Baques introduced himself as a student at the Florida Institute of Technology, a private research university in Melbourne.

Miami-Dade County inmate records show corrections officers booked Baques at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center at 12:30 a.m. Friday. Baques faced 12 charges: six counts of possessing images of a sexual performance by a child and six counts of prosecuting/aiding/another/bestiality.

Dimitris, who usually works at the MDC Juvenile Courthouse, set his bail at $3,000 on two charges and released him without bail on the other 10 charges.
