WALLINGFORD, CT (WFSB) – A serious motorcycle crash on Interstate 91 caused major traffic disruptions early Saturday morning as authorities closed a portion of the highway for several hours.

The crash occurred around 2:03 a.m. in the southbound lane near Exit 13, prompting the rapid response of multiple emergency crews.

Police teams intervened at the scene upon notice that there were seriously injured people.

While both the Wallingford Fire Department and EMS assisted in providing maintenance, the Department of Transportation (DOT) attempted to close the highway for an investigation.

The closure lasted several hours and the highway reopened at 7.29am.

The crash is under investigation by state police.
