Allegation that the woman punched the police officer | News, Sports, Jobs

From Mirror staff reports

An Everett woman was taken into custody after she allegedly punched a state trooper in the face.

Police took the car keys from 22-year-old Olivia Brooke Brennan to prevent her from driving after giving her two doses of Narcan for a suspected overdose, according to court documents.

Brennan was arraigned Nov. 22 by Magistrate District Judge Tonya Osman on charges of aggravated assault and misdemeanor resisting arrest.

Brennan posted $50,000 bail following a bail hearing on Nov. 26. During that hearing, Brennan’s bail conditions were modified to include the non-monetary requirement that he receive drug treatment.

According to the report, a state trooper arrived at the Sheetz parking lot at 9402 Lincoln Highway, Snake Spring Township, Bedford County, around 7:05 p.m., Nov. 24, for a report of a possibly intoxicated woman behind the wheel of a vehicle.

The officer saw the woman, later identified as Brennan, slumped in her seat and was unable to wake her. He also clearly saw controlled substances and drug paraphernalia in Brennan’s vehicle. Thanks to his experience, the officer believed that Brennan had overdosed on opioids, according to court documents.

The officer gave Brennan two doses of Narcan. When he later began to wake up, the officer attempted to take the keys to his vehicle, which was still in the ignition. The report states that Brennan then punched the officer in the face with a closed fist.

Brennan was taken into custody but refused to cooperate with police.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 4 in Bedford County Central Court.
