PORTAGE, Ind. (WLS) — Police are investigating after two people were found dead in a Northwest Indiana home on Friday.

Police said officers responded to a “domestic disturbance” at a home in the 6300 block of Monument Avenue in Portage, Indiana, around 7:41 p.m.

Police officials said that when officers approached the house, they heard gunshots from inside.

When officers entered, they found two adults dead. Police said one of them was the attacker.

Another adult was found alive and taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, Portage police said.

Police said the victims all appeared to be relatives.

Further information was not immediately available. Police said there is no active threat to the community.
